DEPARTMENT OF RADIODIAGNOSIS

 

Mission of the department 

Calicut Medical College is one of the premier health care institutions in Kerala under State Government catering to the health needs of people of the five northern districts of the state comprising a population of more than one crore.

The Department of Radiodiagnosis is one of the major departments in this  hospital. We are having 5 x-ray units including conventional radiography and IITV, one spiral CT scan, one doppler unit, 2 numbers of ultrasound and 4 numbers of automatic processor in the main department.  

The department is functioning 24 hours throughout the year including Sundays and public holidays and we are proud to say that there was not even a single day breakdown in our CT, ultrasound or Doppler.   It has to be pointed out that Department of Radiodiagnosis, Medical College, Calicut is having much workload than any other Radiology departments in Kerala and it makes much revenue than other departments.

           Department of Radiodiagnosis is having DRT course with an annual intake of  30 students and 14  postgraduate students doing DMRD,  MD and DNB.
